| relating to the inclusion of emergency shelter planning in local | ||
| and interjurisdictional emergency management plans. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 418.044, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) The division, in collaboration with political | ||
| subdivisions, emergency management agencies, and regional planning | ||
| commissions created under Chapter 391, Local Government Code, shall | ||
| ensure that local and interjurisdictional emergency management | ||
| plans include provisions for emergency shelters in the event of a | ||
| disaster that are suitable for cold weather events, wildfires, and | ||
| floods. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
