A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the inclusion of emergency shelter planning in local
  and interjurisdictional emergency management plans.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 418.044, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
         (c)  The division, in collaboration with political
  subdivisions, emergency management agencies, and regional planning
  commissions created under Chapter 391, Local Government Code, shall
  ensure that local and interjurisdictional emergency management
  plans include provisions for emergency shelters in the event of a
  disaster that are suitable for cold weather events, wildfires, and
  floods.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
