A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to information on the transfer of license plates included |
|
|
in an application for title and registration of a motor vehicle. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 501.0041, Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) An application form for title and registration of a |
|
|
motor vehicle shall: |
|
|
(1) include an option for the applicant to transfer |
|
|
license plates from another motor vehicle to the vehicle that is the |
|
|
subject of the application in accordance with Section 504.901(a); |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) allow the applicant to attach to the application |
|
|
the appropriate form necessary for the transfer of the license |
|
|
plates. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
