relating to the prioritization of public transportation funding for | ||
areas disproportionately affected by the granting of ad valorem tax | ||
relief to disabled veterans. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 201.996, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
(d) In establishing a formula for allocating funds for | ||
congestion mitigation and air quality improvement projects under | ||
Subsection (a)(4), the department shall prioritize funding for | ||
public transportation in regions with political subdivisions that: | ||
(1) contain or are in proximity to a United States | ||
military installation; and | ||
(2) are disproportionately affected by the granting of | ||
ad valorem tax relief to disabled veterans. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
