A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the provision of certain services by the Kerrville
  State Hospital to a crisis stabilization unit operated on hospital
  grounds.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (c)  The [local mental health authority shall contract with]
  Kerrville State Hospital shall [to] provide food service, laundry
  service, maintenance service, utility service, and lawn care at no
  cost to the local mental health authority operating a crisis
  stabilization unit on the grounds of the Kerrville State Hospital
  as provided by this section.
         SECTION 2.  As soon as practicable after the effective date
  of this Act, the Kerrville State Hospital and a local mental health
  authority operating a crisis stabilization unit on the grounds of
  the hospital shall revise any contract involving the provision of
  services described by Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code,
  as amended by this Act, as necessary to comply with that provision
  as amended.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
