| a life insurance policy. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 1103, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subchapter E to read as follows: | ||
| SUBCHAPTER E. DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIARY | ||
| Sec. 1103.201. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. This subchapter | ||
| applies to a life insurance company that: | ||
| (1) issues or delivers a life insurance policy in this | ||
| state; or | ||
| (2) is organized under the laws of this state. | ||
| Sec. 1103.202. FUNERAL DIRECTORS. If a funeral director | ||
| licensed under Chapter 651, Occupations Code, is directing an | ||
| insured's funeral, a life insurance company shall disclose the | ||
| beneficiary of the insured's life insurance policy to the director | ||
| on the director's request. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
