A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the use of hazard warning lamps to warn approaching
  vehicles of stopped traffic.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 547.331, Transportation Code, is amended
  by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
         (d)  The operator of the last vehicle in a line of traffic
  stopped on a roadway with a speed limit of at least 55 miles per hour
  may display the vehicle's hazard lamps to warn approaching vehicles
  that traffic is stopped.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
