A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the inspection of prevailing wage records by certain
  counties.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 2258, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 2258.0245 to read as follows:
         Sec. 2258.0245.  RECORD INSPECTIONS BY CERTAIN COUNTIES.
  (a) This section applies only to a county with a population of
  585,000 or more that is adjacent to a county with a population of 4
  million or more. 
         (b)  A county may designate the county department or officer
  responsible for inspecting a record described by Section 2258.024
  to ensure compliance with this subchapter.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
