| relating to designating July as American Pride Month. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 662.117 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 662.117. AMERICAN PRIDE MONTH. (a) July is American | ||
| Pride Month to celebrate, memorialize, and increase awareness of | ||
| the monumental achievements of the United States of America and its | ||
| citizens. | ||
| (b) American Pride Month may be regularly observed through | ||
| appropriate activities in public schools and other places to | ||
| promote interest in and knowledge of American history. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
