| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 61.059, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (s) to read as follows: | ||
| (s) In devising its funding formulas under this section and | ||
| Section 130.003 for dual credit courses, including courses for | ||
| joint high school and junior college credit under Section 130.008, | ||
| the board shall ensure that an institution of higher education | ||
| receives the same level of funding for providing a dual credit | ||
| course as every other institution of higher education receives for | ||
| providing the same course or a substantially similar course. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
