| relating to the exemption of certain school districts from the | ||
| placement and use of video cameras in certain self-contained | ||
| classrooms or other settings providing special education services. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 29.022, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (l) to read as follows: | ||
| (l) This section does not apply to a school district that: | ||
| (1) has an enrollment of fewer than 5,000 students; | ||
| and | ||
| (2) is located in a county with a population of less | ||
| than 100,000. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
