A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the posting of certain information regarding programs
  of study offered under a school district's career and technology
  education program.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter F, Chapter 29, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 29.186 to read as follows:
         Sec. 29.186.  POSTING OF INFORMATION ON PROGRAMS OF STUDY.
  (a)  Using information provided under Subsection (b), a school
  district shall maintain on the district's Internet website the
  following information for each program of study offered under the
  district's career and technology education program:
               (1)  labor market information relating to jobs to which
  the program of study is designed to lead, including:
                     (A)  the growth rate of those jobs;
                     (B)  the median annual salary for those jobs; and
                     (C)  any courses of study, degree requirements, or
  other educational requirements necessary to obtain those jobs; and
               (2)  the industry-based certifications that may be
  obtained through the program of study.
         (b)  The Texas Workforce Commission, with assistance from
  the agency, shall biennially produce and make available to each
  school district the labor market information described by
  Subsection (a)(1) for each program of study offered under a
  district's career and technology education program.
         (c)  The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to
  implement this section.
         SECTION 2.  As soon as practicable after the effective date
  of this Act, each school district shall comply with the
  requirements under Section 29.186, Education Code, as added by this
  Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
