A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the hours for the sale and consumption of alcoholic
  beverages at certain licensed or permitted premises during special
  events.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 105, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is amended
  by adding Section 105.11 to read as follows:
         Sec. 105.11.  HOURS OF SALE AND CONSUMPTION: HOTEL BARS
  DURING SPECIAL EVENTS. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of
  this code, the commission, on the request of the chief executive
  officer of a municipality, may extend the hours during which
  alcoholic beverages may be sold and consumed in a licensed or
  permitted premises located in a hotel in the municipality during a
  special event that is being held in or near the municipality. 
         (b)  The commission may extend the hours for the sale and
  consumption of alcoholic beverages under this section for a period
  not to exceed 72 consecutive hours. 
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
