BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 56.003, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | ||
(a-1) An entity responsible for the local share of qualified | ||
project costs under Subsection (a) must be: | ||
(1) a navigation district created under Section 52, | ||
Article III, or Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and | ||
operating under Chapter 60, 61, 62, or 63, Water Code; or | ||
(2) a municipality or board of trustees under Chapter | ||

SECTION 2. Section 56.001(3), Transportation Code, is | ||
repealed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
