No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 334 of the Local Government Code, relating to Sports and Community Venues.

The bill would amend Section 334.0082 by adding Subsections (d) and (e) to authorize a municipality that has a population of 70,000 or more but not more than 180,000 and is located in a county that borders the United Mexican States and the Gulf of Mexico, to impose a municipal hotel occupancy tax to finance a convention center constructed before January 1, 2023, at a rate not to exceed two percent of the cost of a room for the purposes established under this chapter.

The bill would have no state revenue implications.
