A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE HONORABLE JAMES E. DOSTER, JR. UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY SUMMARY COURT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE TO WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the Honorable James E. Doster, Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement on June 30, 2018; and

Whereas, a native of Hemingway, Judge James E. "Jimmy" Doster graduated from Hemingway High School and Florence Darlington Technical College with an Associate of Science; and

Whereas, Judge Doster was appointed as a Williamsburg County magistrate in 1992 and has served for twenty-six years as the magistrate assigned to the Hemingway area; and

Whereas, he also owned and operated his own gun repair and sales and sporting goods store, the Powder Horn Gun Shop, until it closed in 2015; and

Whereas, a man of faith, Judge Doster is an active member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an elder on the session; and

Whereas, Judge Doster has been married to Rhonda (Davis) Doster for forty-two years. Together, they have two daughters, Dr. Reagan (Kevin) Miles and Roslyn (Shannon Travis) Rollins, and two granddaughters, Brooke and Marley Rollins; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the diligence and commitment that Judge Doster has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. The members take immense pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Honorable James E. Doster, Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement from the Williamsburg County Summary Court, commend him for his many years of dedicated public service to Williamsburg County, and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable James E. Doster, Jr.
