A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO SALUTE THE NORTH MYRTLE BEACH HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF ON CAPTURING THE 2018 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, well prepared for the challenge, the North Myrtle Beach High School volleyball team powered its way to the 2018 Class AAAA State Championship title, defeating a strong Pickens squad 3-1 on November 10, 2018, at White Knoll High School; and

Whereas, the Lady Chiefs (24-5), thirsting for their first state title since 2012, packed up the top trophy at the state competition and left their opponents in the dust; and

Whereas, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, Head Coach Alex Sing and Assistant Coach Eva Irwin built their volleyball program into a championship machine and plan to keep it that way; and

Whereas, although the Lady Chiefs will lose three seniors at the close of this school year, eleven juniors will return next year to make them a formidable challenge to all comers; and

Whereas, the North Myrtle Beach High School volleyball team has brought great pride and recognition to its school and community, and the General Assembly is pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young women. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, salute the North Myrtle Beach High School volleyball team for its outstanding season and congratulate the team's exceptional players, coaches, and staff on capturing the 2018 Class AAAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Trevor Strawderman and Head Coach Alex Sing of North Myrtle Beach High School.
