To whom was referred a Joint Resolution (H. 3340) to provide that the school days missed on January 10, 11, and 12, 2011, by the students of the School District of Pickens County when the schools were closed, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 10, 11, AND 12, 2011, BY THE STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PICKENS COUNTY WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW ARE EXEMPT FROM THE REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the school days missed on January 10, 11, and 12, 2011, by the students of the School District of Pickens County when the schools were closed due to snow are exempt from the requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
