A RESOLUTION
Declaring the week of December 4 through 11, 2010, as "Dream
Come True Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, There can be no greater tragedy than the potential
loss of a child due to a terminal illness; and
WHEREAS, Granting a child who is terminally, seriously or
chronically ill a chance to fulfill a dream is a philanthropic
endeavor that is worthy of great commendation; and
WHEREAS, Dream Come True is a nonprofit organization whose
goal is to provide children who have a terminal, serious or
chronic illness a chance to fulfill their dreams; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, Dream Come True has
fulfilled nearly 1,000 dreams, and the organization currently
fulfills 35 dreams a year; and
WHEREAS, The year 2011 will mark the 25th anniversary of

Dream Come True's altruistic efforts in the greater Lehigh
Valley; and
WHEREAS, Dream Come True requests usually fall into the
categories of trips, contact with celebrities and special gifts,
such as computers, shopping sprees or a redecorated bedroom, and
are fulfilled using no government funding but only voluntary
donations; and
WHEREAS, Organizations such as Dream Come True that
demonstrate the caring nature of the citizens of this
Commonwealth deserve special recognition by all Pennsylvanians;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare the week
of December 4 through 11, 2010, as "Dream Come True Week" in
Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
Dream Come True, P.O. Box 21167, Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
