AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the

3

definition of "municipal police officer."

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  The definition of "municipal police officer" in

7

section 8951 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

8

Statutes is amended to read:

9

§ 8951.  Definitions.

10

The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter

11

shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the

12

meanings given to them in this section:

"Municipal police officer."  Any natural person who is

15

properly employed by a municipality, including a home rule

16

municipality, or a police department as defined in 53 Pa.C.S. §

17

2162 (relating to definitions) as a regular full-time or part-

time police officer.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
