Prohibits holder of off-premises sales license from selling alcoholic beverages by means that avoid or allow avoidance of cashier participation in transaction. Makes violation subject to maximum of $6,250 fine, one years' imprisonment, or both. A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages. Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2011 Act is added to and made a part of ORS chapter 471. + } SECTION 2. { + (1) As used in this section, 'self-checkout system' means an automated or customer-operated point of sale that avoids or allows the avoidance of active and direct participation in the purchase transaction by a cashier. (2) The holder of an off-premises sales license may not allow a customer to purchase alcoholic beverages through the use of a self-checkout system. + } ----------
