                             SUMMARY

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.

  Requires Department of Environmental Quality to submit annual
environmental report relating to air quality, water quality and
forest fire emissions to Legislative Assembly.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to Department of Environmental Quality annual
  environmental report.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) On or before March 15 of each year, the
Department of Environmental Quality shall submit to the
Legislative Assembly an environmental report relating to air
quality, water quality and carbon dioxide emissions from forest
fires in this state.
  (2) The report shall include:
  (a) A quantitative and narrative summary of air quality, water
quality and carbon dioxide emissions from forest fires in this
state for the previous calendar year; and
  (b) The department's goals for improving air quality and water
quality in this state, and for reducing carbon dioxide emissions
from forest fires in this state, during the calendar year in
which the report is made.
  (3) Reports under this section shall be made in the manner
provided by ORS 192.245. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + The first report by the Department of
Environmental Quality under section 1 of this 2011 Act is due on
or before March 15, 2013. + }
