| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School girls track and field team on winning the 2012 Division II State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School girls track and field team is an excellent young athlete, combining personal ability and competitive spirit with the loftiest ideals of good sportsmanship. With praiseworthy dedication, members have worked diligently to develop their athletic skills, and the team's exemplary performance throughout the season is ample evidence of each individual's self-discipline, skill, and determination; and |
| WHEREAS, Known as a hard-driving, spirited squad, the Fighting Irish have developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. Under the able guidance of Coach Dan Lancianese, the members have displayed great confidence and superior endurance, and their achievements are a warranted source of pride not only for themselves but also for their families, their school, and their community; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these fine individuals on their superlative showings. Throughout long hours of practice and competition, the Fighting Irish have consistently demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of true champions, and the maturity and experience they have gained through their participation in sports will undoubtedly assist them in meeting future challenges; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School girls track and field team on winning the 2012 Division II State Championship and salute the members as some of Ohio's finest young athletes; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School girls track and field team. |
