| Honoring the Aladdin Shrine on Tabloid Collection Day, June 8, 2013. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Aladdin Shrine on the occasion of Tabloid Collection Day, June 8, 2013; and |
| WHEREAS, Since its founding in New York City in 1872, the Shriners have certainly been a vital philanthropic organization. By raising funds to support the twenty-two Shriners Hospitals for Children throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico that serve needy children with orthopaedic conditions, severe burns, and spinal cord injuries, the members of the Aladdin Shrine have demonstrated the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and their tireless efforts have resulted in the provision of much-needed medical care; and |
| WHEREAS, All those associated with this exceptional fraternal organization are to be applauded for their foresight, dedication, and selfless contributions of time, energy, and ability far beyond what was required or expected. These fine people have earned the respect and admiration of many and have set an example of concerned and responsible citizenship worthy of emulation; and |
| WHEREAS, Engaged in an array of worthwhile activities and projects, the members of the Aladdin Shrine have met a number of needs, and their numerous charitable acts readily explain why they are so widely held in high esteem. We are certain that as they maintain their commitment to service, the Shriners will continue in the tradition of excellence that has long been their hallmark; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Aladdin Shrine during the 2013 Tabloid Collection Day and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Aladdin Shrine. |
