        Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules

        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring the board  of
          elections to provide the public with free and timely access to updated
          absentee ballot data

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section  9-209  of  the  election  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (f) to read as follows:
     3    (f)  Upon completing the casting and canvassing of absentee, military,
     4  and special ballots for each election district, the board  of  elections
     5  shall  post  running  totals  of absentee, military, and special ballots
     6  accepted and rejected for each election district in a public  place  and
     7  on  the  internet. The board of elections shall post such running totals
     8  of rejected absentee, military, and  special  ballots  by  each  of  the
     9  reasons  each  ballot  was  rejected  for  each election district on the
    10  internet.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
