STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8764--A IN SENATE May 14, 2018 ___________ Introduced by Sen. PHILLIPS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT relating to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming a transportation contract of the Port Washington Union Free School District The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken 2 or caused to be had and taken by the Port Washington Union Free School 3 District and by all officers, employees or agents of such school 4 district relating to or in connection with transportation contracts 5 E267698, E275279, C415663, and E600646 of the 2016-2017 school year, and 6 all acts incidental hereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and 7 confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract 8 award, approval and filing provisions of the education law, the general 9 municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or 10 regulation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of 11 subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any 12 omission, error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding 13 had and taken. 14 § 2. The department of education is hereby directed to consider the 15 aforementioned contracts for transportation aid as valid and proper 16 obligations of the Port Washington Union Free School District. 17 § 3.
