ORTT, LANZA -- (at request of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to providing that a retired state officer or employee shall not be barred from providing direct care or other services to an individual for whom those services were provided by such person while a state officer or employee The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 73 of the public officers law is amended by adding 2 a new subdivision 8-c to read as follows: 3 8-c. Notwithstanding the provisions of subparagraphs (i) and (ii) of 4 paragraph (a) of subdivision eight of this section, a former state offi- 5 cer or employee who, prior to his or her separation from state service, 6 was employed performing direct care, clinical care, case management, 7 service coordination or other related support duties with the state of 8 New York is not barred from rendering such services in the future to 9 individuals who were receiving such services from that individual prior 10 to leaving the state service. 11 § 2.
