MARTINEZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor AN ACT to amend the workers' compensation law, in relation to paid fami- ly leave and siblings The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 201 of the workers' compensation law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 24 to read as follows: 3 24. "Sibling" means a biological or adopted sibling, a half-sibling or 4 stepsibling. 5 § 2. Subdivision 20 of section 201 of the workers' compensation law, 6 as added by section 2 of part SS of chapter 54 of the laws of 2016, is 7 amended to read as follows: 8 20. "Family member" means a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, 9 sibling, spouse, or domestic partner as defined in this section. 10 § 3. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 11 have become a law and shall apply to all policies or contracts issued, 12 renewed, modified, altered or amended on or after such date.
