        AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to  creating  the
          town of Southampton community development agency
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Article 15-B of the general municipal law,  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new title 118 to read as follows:

     4              Town of Southampton Community Development Agency
     5  Section 680-e. Town of Southampton community development agency.
     6    §  680-e.  Town  of Southampton community development agency.  For the
     7  benefit of the town of Southampton and the inhabitants thereof, a commu-
     8  nity development agency, to be known as the TOWN OF SOUTHAMPTON COMMUNI-
     9  TY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, is hereby established for the  accomplishment  of
    10  any  or  all of the purposes specified in articles fifteen and fifteen-A
    11  of this chapter.  It shall constitute a body corporate and politic,  and
    12  be  perpetual  in duration.   It shall have the powers and duties now or
    13  hereafter conferred by articles fifteen and fifteen-A  of  this  chapter
    14  upon  community  development  agencies and provided that the exercise of
    15  the powers by such agency with respect to the acquisition of real  prop-
    16  erty whether by purchase, condemnation or otherwise, shall be limited to
    17  the  corporate  limits of the town of Southampton, and such agency shall
    18  take into consideration the local zoning  and  planning  regulations  as
    19  well  as  the regional and local comprehensive land use plans.  It shall
    20  be organized in a manner prescribed by and be subject to the  provisions
    21  of  articles  fifteen  and fifteen-A of this chapter.  Its members shall
    22  consist of the supervisor of the town of Southampton, who shall  be  its
    23  chairperson  and  the  four  councilmen  or  councilwomen of the town of
    24  Southampton.  The agency, its members, officers and  employees  and  its
    25  operations  and  activities  shall  in  all  respects be governed by the
    26  provisions of articles fifteen and fifteen-A of this chapter.
    27    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
