LARKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to authorize the commissioner of general services to convey certain state lands to the county of Ulster THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act, but notwithstanding 2 any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of general 3 services is hereby authorized to transfer and convey to the county of 4 Ulster, in exchange for consideration of one dollar and upon such other 5 terms and conditions as such commissioner may deem necessary and proper, 6 approximately 0.179 acre of state land with buildings and improvements 7 thereon, formerly used as a group home for people with developmental 8 disabilities, and further described in section two of this act. 9 S 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred and conveyed 10 are as follows: 11 Al that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with buildings and 12 improvements thereon, situated, lying, and being in the City of King- 13 ston, County of Ulster, State of New York, known as 67 Wurts Street, 14 Kingston, New York 12401, (Section, Block, and Lot Number 56.42-8-18) 15 and more particularly bounded and described as follows: 16 Beginning at a point, said point being a recovered monument set at the 17 intersection of the southerly side of Spring Street and the westerly 18 side of Wurts Street thence along said westerly side of Wurts Street; 19 thence along said Westerly side of Wurts Street, south 28 degrees, 24 20 feet, 20 inches east, 73.60 feet to an X cut on the sidewalk; thence 21 along the division line of lands of The People of the State of New York 22 and land, now or formerly, of Eleanor M. Kelder, south 61 degrees, 35 23 feet, 40 inches west, 100.00 feet to a set rod on the easterly side of 24 lands, now or formerly, of John F. Whitaker; thence along said lands of 25 Whitaker north 28 degrees, 7 feet and 44 inches west, 82.52 feet to a 26 rod set on the southerly side of Spring Street; thence along the south- 27 erly side of Spring Street, north 66 degrees, 42 feet, 40 inches east, 28 100.00 feet to the point and place of beginning, containing 7,791.256 EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. The commissioner of general services shall not transfer or convey 4 such lands unless application is made by the county of Ulster within one 5 year after the effective date of this act. 6 S 4. Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used by the 7 county of Ulster for the purposes of such county's department of social 8 services, department of mental health, and/or department of veterans 9 affairs for the provision of transitional housing for and otherwise 10 providing assistance to veterans in such county, and upon termination of 11 such uses, title to the lands so transferred shall revert to the state 12 of New York. 13 S 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
