BONACIC -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions AN ACT relating to the eligibility of Ronald Stroh to take the compet- itive civil service examination for the position of police officer in the town of New Paltz, in the county of Ulster and to be placed on the eligibility list for appointment as a full-time police officer THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law or any other provision of law to the contrary, Ronald Stroh, 3 who has been continuously employed by the town of New Paltz, in the 4 county of Ulster, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to 5 take the competitive civil service examination for the position of 6 police officer and shall, contingent upon his scores on such examina- 7 tion, be eligible to be placed on the eligibility list for appointment 8 as a full-time police officer for the town of New Paltz. 9 S 2. Ronald Stroh shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness 10 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi- 11 cers. 12 S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
