STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6255 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN SENATE May 11, 2017 ___________ Introduced by Sen. HANNON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend chapter 57 of the laws of 2017, amending the public health law relating to reserved bed days, in relation to the effective date of certain provisions thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 7 of part E of chapter 57 of the laws of 2017, 2 amending the public health law relating to reserved bed days, is amended 3 to read as follows: 4 § 7. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 5 have been in full force and effect on and after April 1, 2017; except 6 that section two of this act shall take effect on the first of September 7 after this act shall have become a law; provided that prior to the 8 effective date of section two of this act the commissioner of health 9 shall amend existing regulations and take other actions reasonably 10 necessary to implement the change to the reserved bed day policy and 11 reimbursement methodology as amended by section two of this act; and 12 provided further that the department of health shall not deny reimburse- 13 ment for beds reserved pursuant to section 2808 of the public health law 14 and regulations existing on or before April 1, 2017, unless and until 15 the commissioner of health issues amended regulations to reflect the 16 public health law changes made by this act. 17 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 18 have been in full force and effect on and after April 1, 2017.
