        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to a limited license  for
          a speech-language pathologist
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 8206-a
     2  to read as follows:
     3    § 8206-a. Limited license. 1. The department  shall  issue  a  limited
     4  license  to  an applicant for a license as a speech-language pathologist
     5  who meets all requirements set forth in this section.
     6    2. Any person engaging in clinical  or  academic  practice  under  the
     7  supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist for such period of
     8  time  as  may  be  necessary to complete an experience requirement for a
     9  professional license as a speech-language pathologist shall be  eligible
    10  for a limited license.
    11    3.  A limited licensee shall be authorized to practice speech-language
    12  pathology only under  the  supervision  of  a  licensed  speech-language
    13  pathologist.
    14    4.  A  limited  license shall be valid for one year. It may be renewed
    15  for additional one year periods until such time as may be  necessary  to
    16  complete  an  experience  requirement  for  a  professional license as a
    17  speech-language pathologist.
    18    5. The fee for a limited license shall be seventy dollars.
    19    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    20  it shall have become a law.
