       Introduced  by  Sen.  LARKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to  authorize  the  commissioner  of  education  to  disregard  a
         reduction  in the apportionment of public money to the Monroe-Woodbury
         central school district
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding the fact that the Monroe-Woodbury central
    2  school district was only in session for one hundred seventy-nine days in
    3  the 2010-2011 school year, due to no fault of its own, the  commissioner
    4  of  education  is  authorized  to  disregard  the reduction of state aid
    5  required pursuant to section 3604 of the education  law  and  shall  pay
    6  such  school  district  its  apportionment as if the school district had
    7  been in session for the required one hundred eighty days.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
