        Introduced  by Sen. VENDITTO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation -- reported
          favorably from said committee, ordered to  first  and  second  report,
          ordered  to  a third reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining
          its place in the order of third reading -- recommitted to the  Commit-
          tee  on  Transportation  in  accordance  with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 --
          committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as  amended  and
          recommitted to said committee
        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
          the state highway system in the town of Babylon, county of Suffolk, as
          the "Corporal Tony Casamento Memorial Bridge"
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section  343-ccc
     2  to read as follows:
     3    § 343-ccc. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the
     4  "Corporal  Tony  Casamento  Memorial Bridge". The bridge on county route
     5  28, exits number 34 on the east and westbound Southern state parkway  in
     6  the town of Babylon, county of Suffolk, shall be designated and known as
     7  the "Corporal Tony Casamento Memorial Bridge".
     8    §  2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
     9  lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state  highway  system
    10  as  designated  pursuant  to  section one of this act; provided that, to
    11  avoid any confusion and to limit any possible  disruption  of  commerce,
    12  the  designation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be
    13  one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall  not
    14  be changed as a result of this act.
    15    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
