        AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
          relation to public school cafeteria and school kitchen inspection data
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is  amended
     2  by adding a new section 23-702 to read as follows:
     3    § 23-702 School cafeteria and kitchen inspection data. a. Whenever any
     4  cafeteria  or  kitchen  in  a  school  of  the  city  school district is
     5  inspected by the department of  health  and  mental  hygiene,  the  city
     6  school district shall post the following information on its website:
     7    1. the date of the inspection or reinspection;
     8    2. the name and address of the school where the inspected cafeteria or
     9  kitchen is located;
    10    3.  the  facts  established  observed  violations, if any, during such
    11  inspection and the severity level of such violations;
    12    4. citations to the laws, regulations  or  rules  for  any  violations
    13  observed during such inspection; and
    14    5. any corrective actions taken in response to such inspection.
    15    b. Inspection results posted on the website for the city department of
    16  education  pursuant  to  this  section shall be searchable by the school
    17  name and address.
    18    c. At least once every school year, the principal of every  school  of
    19  the city school district where students use a cafeteria or kitchen shall
    20  inform  the parent or legal guardian of each student of such school that
    21  the information required by this section is available on the website  of
    22  the city department of education. The principal shall inform such parent

     1  or  legal  guardian  that  such  information  is  available  in a manner
     2  consistent with how other information is communicated to such parent  or
     3  legal guardian, including, but not limited to, email, mail, parent news-
     4  letter or notice to students to show their parent or legal guardian.
     5    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
     6  have become a law.
