STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3040 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE February 1, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sen. SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to including the impersona- tion of a doctor of medicine as criminal impersonation in the second degree The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 190.25 of the penal law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 5 to read as follows: 3 5. Impersonates a doctor of medicine and, in so doing, the actor 4 provides medical advice or treatment to another person as a patient, 5 regardless of whether or not the other person suffers harm from the 6 medical advice or treatment. 7 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 8 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
