STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2955 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 18, 2017 ___________ Introduced by Sen. CROCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to immunizations for children The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 914 of the education law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 4 to read as follows: 3 4. a. Each school district receiving at least one request for an 4 exemption from vaccination, pursuant to subdivision nine of section 5 twenty-one hundred sixty-four of the public health law, must report to 6 the department, by June thirtieth of the given year, the following 7 information: 8 (i) The number of students for which an exemption was requested. 9 (ii) The number of students for which an exemption was granted. 10 (iii) The number of students for which an exemption was denied. 11 b. The department shall compile data reported pursuant to paragraph a 12 of this subdivision, and shall report such data to the legislature and 13 the governor by December first of each year. 14 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of September next 15 succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law; provided howev- 16 er, paragraph b of subdivision 4 of section 914 of the education law, as 17 added by section one of this act, shall take effect one year after such 18 date.
