BROOKS, SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Energy and Tele- communications -- recommitted to the Committee on Energy and Telecom- munications in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to requiring utility companies to include a notice of public hearings concerning rate increases The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 44 of the public service law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 3 7. Every utility corporation shall include on their bills sent to 4 their customers advance notice of the date and place of any and all 5 public hearings, including but not limited to hearings before the 6 commission, concerning proposed increases in rates of such utility 7 corporation known to such utility corporation at the time of the prepa- 8 ration of such bills. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 10 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted.
