        Introduced  by  Sens.  BROOKS, JORDAN -- read twice and ordered printed,
          and when printed to be committed to the Committee on  Veterans,  Home-
          land  Security  and  Military  Affairs  --  committee discharged, bill
          amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said  commit-
          tee

        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a
          veteran career assistance program within the SUNY and CUNY systems

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section  353-b
     2  to read as follows:
     3    §  353-b.  Veteran  career assistance. The director, together with the
     4  chancellor of the state university of New York and the chancellor of the
     5  city university of New York, shall establish a veteran career assistance
     6  program. Such program shall provide veterans with assistance  in  resume
     7  writing  and  employment placement services. The program shall be devel-
     8  oped and maintained with resources already available to the division and
     9  the university systems including, but not limited  to,  campus  veterans
    10  service offices, career centers, and opportunity centers.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
    12  it shall have become a law.
