STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 1054 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 9, 2023 ___________ Introduced by Sen. HINCHEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to increas- ing the number of cuisine trails in the state The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The opening paragraph of paragraph (b) of subdivision 3 of 2 section 284-a of the agriculture and markets law, as amended by chapter 3 314 of the laws of 2016, is amended to read as follows: 4 Designations shall take into consideration geographic proximity and 5 alignment, thematic consistency, geographic or historical consistency, 6 density, economic feasibility, and the cooperation of agricultural 7 producers on the trails to be designated. The department shall designate 8 no more than fifteen farm trails, fifteen apple trails, and [fifteen] 9 twenty-five cuisine trails. Criteria for developing and approving such 10 trails shall include: 11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
