Assembly Resolution No. 941 BY: M. of A. Simpson CONGRATULATING the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Robotics Championship on March 12, 2022 WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and pay tribute to those who, by achieving outstanding success in their educational endeavors and competitions, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State; and WHEREAS, It is also the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves through excellence in scholastic competition; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Robotics Championship; and WHEREAS, On Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Syracuse, New York, the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team competed against the top 51 teams in the State of New York; and WHEREAS, This year's game, "Tipping Point," required pairs of teams to enter a 12 by 12 arena in co-op alliances; robots on both teams then collected rings in scoring zones, moving goals and using elevated platforms to win; furthermore, robots had to make it through both autonomous and student-piloted periods; and WHEREAS, In a close final round, the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team's Robot 64040C delivered the final blow in the last match, winning these outstanding students a ticket to the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas; and WHEREAS, Additionally, Robot 64040A, won the coveted Design Award, earning two Lake George systems the opportunity to compete with robots across the world; and WHEREAS, With this monumental win, the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team takes home its third straight New York State Championship and its second Design Award honor; and WHEREAS, Robotics classes teach students various skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, leadership and ownership, all of which have led the Lake George Robotics Program to a high level of success; and WHEREAS, Coach Larry Stroebel has done a superb job in guiding, molding and inspiring the team members toward their goals; and WHEREAS, The members of the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team are loyally and enthusiastically supported by their school, family, friends and the community at large; and WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these students now stand honorably, with just pride in their accomplishments and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers, coaches and parents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate the Lake George High School VEX Robotics Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Robotics Championship on March 12, 2022; and be it further RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the members of the Lake George High School Robotics Team: Kristian Johnson, Christian Siletti, Maggie Greene, Zach Lehmann, Jonah Cocozza, Antonio Chiaravelle, Gianna Fasulo, Shelby Decker, Emily Fuller, Zach Bruno, Anthony Halliday, Camden Wolfield, Sophie Unkauf, Benjamin Montville and Nicholas Wagemann; and Coach Larry Stroebel.
