Assembly Resolution No. 338 BY: M. of A. Palmesano CONGRATULATING Cheryl L. Crozier upon the occasion of her retirement after almost 42 years of distinguished service to Corning Inc. WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Cheryl L. Crozier upon the occasion of her retirement after almost 42 years of distinguished service to Corning Inc., to be celebrated with an event on Tuesday, June 8, 2021; and WHEREAS, For almost 42 years, Cheryl L. Crozier rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to Corning Inc.; and WHEREAS, Cheryl L. Crozier began her long and esteemed career as a legal secretary with Corning Inc. on July 16, 1979; she then served as a paralegal before transitioning for a short time to the insurance department; and WHEREAS, Next, Cheryl L. Crozier was the department secretary for the Plant Manufacturing Department at the Pressware Plant before assuming the role of purchasing aide and then plant manager's secretary for the Pressware Plant Manager; and WHEREAS, In July of 1994, Cheryl L. Crozier moved to the Consumer Products Division in the planning and procurement department, and on July 2, 1996, she joined government affairs working for Freeman Smith; she was then promoted to the title of Government Affairs Coordinator, a position she has held for the last 18 years until she officially retires on June 1, 2021; and WHEREAS, A kind and compassionate woman, Cheryl L. Crozier is a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Corning and volunteers her time and energy to numerous organizations including United Way, Corning Choices program, Big Brother Big Sisters, Corning Food Pantry, Heart to Heart, Carefirst, and Corning's Gaffer District Parade of Lights event; and WHEREAS, In addition, Cheryl L. Crozier served on the Finger Lakes Wine Country Board for 10 years, four years of which she was its Board Chair; she has also been actively involved with the Corning Food Pantry Board for the last 12 years, nine of which she served as Chair, and for several years, she was the co-Chair of Corning's Annual Art Fest Event, the precursor to the Corning Glass Fest Event; and WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure with Corning Inc., Cheryl L. Crozier served with loyalty, honor and distinction; in her official acts, she was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate Cheryl L. Crozier upon the occasion of her retirement after almost 42 years of distinguished service to Corning Inc., and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Cheryl L. Crozier.
