Senate Resolution No. 2574 BY: Senator RITCHIE CELEBRATING the public service career of Keith Zimmerman, who served the residents of St. Lawrence County and New York State for 32 years WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to celebrate the public service career of Keith Zimmerman, who served the residents of St. Lawrence County and New York State for 32 years; and WHEREAS, Keith Zimmerman served the men and women of St. Lawrence County for more than three decades, holding the esteemed positions of, Planner, Deputy Planning Director, and Director of the St. Lawrence County Planning Office; and WHEREAS, Over his tenure with St. Lawrence County, his leadership and insight played an important role in the development of the counties 1995 Policy Guide, the introduction of the First Time Homebuyer program, the counties response to the 1998 Ice Storm emergency, the environmental remediation of the sealand hazardous waste site in Lisbon, the cleanup of the formal J&L Steel site in Clifton, and the counties emergency response to the 2019 flooding of the St. Lawrence River; and WHEREAS, During his truly momentous career, Keith Zimmerman was instrumental in the development of a timely financial plan as a member of the budget team; he also stepped in to serve as Emergency Management Director and Information Technology Director when those departments needed interim directors; and WHEREAS, When St. Lawrence County designed and constructed its Human Services and County Jail complexes, Keith Zimmerman helped develop the plan to provide modern facilities for the people of the county; and WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the dedication shown to one's community and county that Keith Zimmerman has shown throughout his career with St. Lawrence County and his efforts should be applauded by all those in this great Empire State; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to celebrate the public service career of Keith Zimmerman, who served the residents of St. Lawrence County and New York State for 32 years; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Keith Zimmerman.
