Senate Resolution No. 2572

        COMMENDING  Shane  Broadwell  upon the occasion of
        his retirement after seven  years  of  distinguished
        service as an Oswego County Legislator

  WHEREAS,  Within  every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment  and  dedication,
command  the  respect  and  admiration  of  their  community  for  their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
honor  those  distinguished  citizens  who demonstrate great courage and
diligence in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is  justly  proud  to  commend  Shane
Broadwell  upon  the  occasion  of  his  retirement after seven years of
distinguished service as an Oswego County Legislator; and

  WHEREAS, Since his first  term  began  in  October  of  2012,  Shane
Broadwell  has  diligently  worked  on  behalf  of  the people of Oswego
County's 17th District to improve their community; and

  WHEREAS, Throughout his  tenure,  Shane  Broadwell  enthusiastically
supported many worthy causes and encouraged collaboration between county
lawmakers  and  departments,  and  local  school  districts  to  achieve
results,  namely  strengthening  the  county's  workforce,  revitalizing
neighborhoods,  enhancing  programming  in  county schools and improving
overall safety throughout the county; and

  WHEREAS, Shane Broadwell also played a key role in  many  of  Oswego
County's  recent  successes,  such  as  the  establishment of the Oswego
County Land  Bank  and  the  County's  efforts  to  save  the  James  A.
FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant; and

  WHEREAS,  As  Oswego  County Legislator, Shane Broadwell served with
loyalty, honor and distinction, earning him the admiration,  esteem  and
affection of his colleagues; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown  a
long  and  sustained  commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  Shane Broadwell upon the occasion of his retirement after seven
years of distinguished service as an Oswego County  Legislator,  and  to
wish  him  continued  success  in  all  his  future endeavors; and be it
further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Shane Broadwell.
