        COMMENDING  Caribbean  Women's Health Association,
        Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its annual  Health
        and Wellness Fair on June 9, 2023

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
organizations which work to serve the health care needs of the  citizens
of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend  the  commending Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc. upon
the occasion of hosting its annual Health and Wellness Fair  on  Friday,
June 9, 2023; and

  WHEREAS, Founded in 1982, Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc.
(CWHA)  has  served  as  an  advocacy  group and service provider in the
community for over 30 years; and

  WHEREAS, CWHA strongly relies on community involvement in  planning,
implementation  and  evaluation  of programs that meets their health and
social support needs; the staff  and  leadership  of  CWHA  continuously
interact  with  the  community  to  review  the  appropriateness  of the
educational  and  promotional   materials   produced   by   this   vital
organization; and

  WHEREAS,  Since its inception, CWHA has remained true to its mission
of providing high quality, comprehensive, culturally appropriate health,
immigration and social support services to its diverse constituency; and

  WHEREAS, CWHA diligently works to assist in the reduction of  infant
mortality  and  improve  maternal  and infant health outcomes and health
disparities  through   community-based   activities   in   neighborhoods
disproportionately  affected  by poor birth, infant and health outcomes;
and

  WHEREAS,  Through  its  various  multi-year  grants,  CWHA  provides
services  to at-risk pregnant, post-partum, and interconceptional women,
and their infants  and  families,  as  well  as  young  adults,  through
outreach,  care  coordination  and support and community-wide education,
such as events, workshops and training; and

  WHEREAS, The success of CWHA is in direct correlation to the efforts
of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has  been,  characterized
by   an   impressive   commitment,   an  unbridled  enthusiasm,  and  an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of  the
institution and the community it serves; and

  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body recognizes the vital importance of
the CWHA in providing excellence in care through  prevention,  education
and  treatment,  and  its  evident  commitment  to  this  mission;  now,
therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its annual Health and Wellness Fair on June 9, 2023; and  be  it
further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc.
