        COMMENDING the Empire State Society of Association
        Executives upon the occasion of celebrating its 40th
        Anniversary on February 7, 2019

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those organizations which  substantially  contribute  to
the  economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend the Empire State Society  of  Association  Executives  upon  the
occasion  of  its  40th  Anniversary;  this  momentous  occasion will be
celebrated at  its  Annual  Meeting  and  Awards  Banquet  on  Thursday,
February 7, 2019, at the Albany Marriott in Albany, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Since  1979,  the  Empire  State  Society  of  Association
Executives (ESSAE) has strived to guide, empower and lead  by  providing
support  for  persons  engaged  in the management of voluntary trade and
professional associations and not-for-profit organizations; and

  WHEREAS, ESSAE provides a method for the exchange of ideas among the
professional staff of associations located in New York State; one of the
initial aims for organizing ESSAE was  to  encourage  high  professional
standards in the management of those associations; these ideals and aims
are  still  being  followed,  and ESSAE now boasts over 500 members from
across the State; and

  WHEREAS, These individuals truly make a difference in the  State  of
New  York  by  creating  jobs,  enriching  communities,  and  serving as
professional and workforce development leaders; and

  WHEREAS, Currently, New York  State  ranks  second  in  the  highest
membership  organizations employment in the nation, and its associations
bring in over $11 billion in annual revenue; and

  WHEREAS, Over the years, ESSAE has become  increasingly  progressive
and  active;  some  of  their  recent  activities, projects and programs
include educational seminars, social activities, a job board, a  lending
library,   the   Certified   Association  Executive  (CAE)  designation,
opportunities to join various task forces and  committees,  E-News,  and
the  Association  Leadership  Academy  Program,  as  well  as its Annual
Meeting and Awards Program and Annual One Day Conference & Expo; and

  WHEREAS, For 40 years, ESSAE has diligently worked  to  educate  the
workforce, and its members have served as vital and substantial parts of
their  communities  by  volunteering  their  time  and energy to various
worthy organizations and projects; and

  WHEREAS, The success of  ESSAE  is  in  direct  correlation  to  the
efforts  of  its Executive Director Vanessa LaClair and her staff, whose
involvement is, and always has  been,  characterized  by  an  impressive
commitment,  an  unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of

excellence in all  endeavors  on  behalf  of  the  institution  and  the
community it serves; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  with  great  pleasure  that  this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional organization and its contributions to  the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Empire State Society  of  Association  Executives  upon  the
occasion of celebrating its 40th Anniversary on February 7, 2019; and be
it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Vanessa LaClair, Executive  Director,  the  Empire  State
Society of Association Executives.
