       AN ACT to amend chapter 545 of the laws of  2003,  amending  the  social
         services  law  relating to the assisted living program, in relation to
         extending the effectiveness thereof
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.  Section 2 of chapter 545 of the laws of 2003, amending the
    2  social  services law relating to the assisted living program, as amended
    3  by chapter 593 of the laws of 2005, is amended to read as follows:
    4    S 2. This act shall  take  effect  immediately  and  shall  be  deemed
    5  repealed  September 1, [2010] 2013.  Provided that, any person placed in
    6  an assisted living program pursuant to paragraph (g) of subdivision 3 of
    7  section 461-1 of the social services law, as added  by  section  one  of
    8  this  act, prior to the repeal of this act shall be authorized to remain
    9  in such program and receive the services thereof  after  the  repeal  of
   10  this  act.  Furthermore,  state  funding  for  the provision of assisted
   11  living program services authorized by this act shall continue after  the
   12  repeal  of  this  act for any person to which the provisions of this act
   13  shall continue to apply.
   14    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
