STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10928 IN ASSEMBLY May 29, 2018 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. ASHBY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation AN ACT to authorize Stride, Inc. to file an application for retroactive real property tax exemption The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the assessor of the town of Sand Lake is hereby authorized to accept 3 from Stride, Inc. an application for exemption from real property taxes 4 pursuant to section 420-a of the real property tax law for the 2016-2017 5 assessment roll, for the parcels conveyed to such organization on Novem- 6 ber 2, 2016, with such parcels being located in the town of Sand Lake at 7 4482 NY Highway 150, West Sand Lake, Rensselaer county, New York. If 8 accepted, the application shall be reviewed as if it had been received 9 on or before the taxable status date established for such roll. If 10 satisfied that such organization would otherwise be entitled to such 11 exemption if such organization had filed an application for exemption by 12 the appropriate taxable status date, the assessor of the town of Sand 13 Lake, upon approval by the town board of such town, may grant exemption 14 from all taxation beginning on the date of the conveyance of such parcel 15 to such organization on the effective date of this act and cancel taxes, 16 fines, penalties and interest remaining unpaid, and repay any taxes, 17 fines, penalties and interest paid by such organization, and make appro- 18 priate correction of the subject roll. 19 § 2.
