        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to  state  appropriations
          for increases in tuition credit
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subparagraph 4 of paragraph h of subdivision 2  of  section
     2  355 of the education law is amended by adding a new clause (vii) to read
     3  as follows:
     4    (vii)  Beginning in state fiscal year two thousand nineteen--two thou-
     5  sand twenty and thereafter, the state shall appropriate and make  avail-
     6  able general fund operating support to cover any increase in the tuition
     7  credit pursuant to section six hundred eighty-nine-a of this title annu-
     8  ally.
     9    §  2. Subparagraph 4 of paragraph h of subdivision 2 of section 355 of
    10  the education law is amended by adding a new closing paragraph  to  read
    11  as follows:
    12     Beginning  in  state  fiscal year two thousand nineteen--two thousand
    13  twenty and thereafter, the state shall appropriate  and  make  available
    14  general  fund  operating  support  to  cover any increase in the tuition
    15  credit pursuant to section six hundred eighty-nine-a of this title annu-
    16  ally.
    17    § 3. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 7 of section 6206 of  the  education
    18  law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (vi) to read as follows:
    19    (vi)  Beginning  in state fiscal year two thousand nineteen--two thou-
    20  sand twenty and thereafter, the state shall appropriate and make  avail-
    21  able general fund operating support to cover any increase in the tuition
    22  credit  pursuant  to  section  six hundred eighty-nine-a of this chapter
    23  annually.
    24    § 4. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 7 of section 6206 of  the  education
    25  law is amended by adding a new closing paragraph to read as follows:
    26     Beginning  in  state  fiscal year two thousand nineteen--two thousand
    27  twenty and thereafter, the state shall appropriate  and  make  available
    28  general  fund  operating  support  to  cover any increase in the tuition

     1  credit pursuant to section six hundred  eighty-nine-a  of  this  chapter
     2  annually.
     3    §  5.  This  act shall take effect immediately; provided, however that
     4  the amendments to subparagraph 4 of paragraph  h  of  subdivision  2  of
     5  section  355  of the education law made by section one of this act shall
     6  not affect the expiration and reversion of such subparagraph pursuant to
     7  section 16 of chapter 260 of the laws of 2011,  as  amended,  when  upon
     8  such  date  section  two  of  this  act shall take effect; and provided,
     9  further that the amendments to paragraph (a) of subdivision 7 of section
    10  6206 of the education law made by section three of this  act  shall  not
    11  affect  the  expiration  and  reversion  of  such  paragraph pursuant to
    12  section 16 of chapter 260 of the laws of 2011,  as  amended,  when  upon
    13  such date section four of this act shall take effect.
