STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10789 IN ASSEMBLY May 18, 2018 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SKOUFIS -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to grant Philip Fagan eligibility for permanent appointment as a police officer with the police department of the village of Highland Falls, in the county of Orange The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of section 58 of the civil 2 service law to the contrary, the village of Highland Falls, in the coun- 3 ty of Orange is hereby authorized and directed, upon approval of the 4 police chief of the village of Highland Falls, to reinstate Philip 5 Fagan, a part-time police officer employed by the village of Highland 6 Falls, who previously received a permanent appointment in the compet- 7 itive class of civil service as a police officer with the police depart- 8 ment of the village of Harriman, in the county of Orange, to a full-time 9 competitive position as a police officer with the police department of 10 the village of Highland Falls. 11 § 2.
